Joining The PR Collective


Affiliates enjoy a host of benefits from participation in The PR Collective. Essentially, TPRC levels the playing field against larger agencies when seeking, securing, and servicing PR clients while setting you apart from other micro-to-boutique agencies.  Membership in The PR Collective is 100% free.


Control Costs – TPRC Affiliates group together to combine buying power that earns deep discounts on the essential “big agency” tools from our Resource Partners including media monitoring, media contact research, media opportunities, and press release distribution. TPRC can help find other Affiliates interested in any product or service purchase you are considering, and handle negotiating a group discount.  (Click here to learn how to get full access to ProfNet for a year for only $500)

Expand Reach – The PR Collective has Affiliates across the country. A phone call or email to a co-Affiliate, or a notice distributed to all Affiliates, can yield a wealth of local market knowledge to support regional outreaches. Need enduring local support? Bring a co-Affiliate onto the account as a field office, giving your client boots on the ground right where they are needed.

Add Depth – Does that technology client you have, or are going after, also have a travel angle? Does your healthcare client have an education angle that's out of your scope? The PR Collective is made up of many industry-specific media relations practitioners who can add outside expertise to your outreach or client acquisition pitch.

Build Revenue – In addition to the competitive advantage provided when seeking new clients, you can also refer client leads that are out of your scope to co-Affiliates for commission.  Every PR inquiry will have revenue potential. Plus, you have co-Affiliates across the country possibly hearing about a leads that are perfect for you.

Agencies do not need to change agency name or give up their unique business identity. There is no required cost to participate in The PR Collective.

The PR Collective generally only accepts new Affiliates on an invitation-only basis, but is currently accepting applications to support our planned growth.  Agencies that do get accepted into The PR Collective typically share certain characteristics:
  • They are sole-proprietorships, micro-agencies, small agencies or boutiques with a primary focus on media/public relations.
  • A principal of the agency has at least 10 years of solid PR experience (most within TPRC have significantly more) and have held at least one Director or above PR position at major company.
  • A principal of the agency participates to a significant degree in each client account on a regular basis. (If their clients only see them at the initial pitch meeting and only hear from them on monthly conference calls, then they are not a match for TPRC or our clients.)
  • The agency has quantifiable success creating buzz and earning media placements, ideally on a national level, within their clients' target audiences and media.
  • There is a certain level of tech and web “savvy-ness” within the agency’s senior staff which greatly facilitates communications and community-building within The PR Collective.
  • The agency is a proponent of teamwork, willing to share media contacts, business leads, ideas and other resources with likeminded agencies in order to better seek, secure, and service clients.
